The structure of cell chloroplasts of spring cereals

Abstract

Vladislav V. Zhuk, Mykola M. Musyenko

It is shown that in wheat chloroplasts thylakoids are localized on the periphery and in the central part are strong starch grains. In the chloroplasts of barley found small stack of thylakoids. Unlike wheat, the number of starch grains in chloroplasts of barley is more, but they are smaller. Oat chloroplasts were significantly smaller than the other studied cereals. Thus, cell chloroplasts of leaves of wheat, barley and oats differed significantly in size and structure, but had have clearly organized system of grand and lamellas. All chloroplasts had starch grains and lipid droplets. The structure of chloroplasts indicates their high functional activity.
