Assessment of cadmium and nickel tolerance of maize cultivars based on root and shoot growth

The test of tolerance degree of some maize cultivars to the heavy metals action (in particular cadmium and nickel) by the Wilkins root test has been conducted. It has been established that the greatest tolerance to the stress was in the cv. ‘Dniprovski 425’, and the lowest in ‘Premija 190’.
